Engineering manager

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the teams building our wellbeing and performance platform. Fast iteration, direct communication, zero bureaucracy — if you care about health, longevity, and pushing human limits, you’ll fit right in.

You’ll guide a high-velocity engineering group (Golang, iOS, Android, QA) building Agen’s wellbeing platform — fast, scalable, AI-powered. Your work will directly impact how people track health, receive personalized insights, and improve daily performance.

We want someone who builds strong teams, ships quickly, understands mobile deeply, and has personal motivation in health, sports, medicine, or human performance.

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of Backend (Golang), iOS, Android, and QA engineers building our consumer wellbeing apps.
• Create a fast, feedback-driven environment with minimal overhead and strong ownership.
• Drive technical execution end-to-end — from architectural decisions to day-to-day delivery.
• Work closely with product, design, data science, and AI/ML teams to define features and guide implementation.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and platform teams to integrate IoT devices, sensors, and wearables into the mobile product ecosystem.
• Oversee mobile–IoT interoperability, ensuring reliable connectivity, device pairing, data sync, and sensor data processing.
• Ensure rapid iteration while maintaining high-quality standards across mobile and connected-device experiences.
• Help engineers break down complex problems, unblock issues, and deliver features quickly.
• Recruit, onboard, and mentor world-class engineers passionate about health and human performance.
• Establish engineering best practices for reliability, testing, architecture, observability, and IoT data flows.
• Encourage experimentation, continuous improvement, and thoughtful technical tradeoffs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy, security, and device-related standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA/GDPR, BLE security best practices)ю
• Act as a communication bridge between engineering teams, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Must have:

• Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams (Backend, iOS, Android, QA).
  
• Strong technical background — ideally with mobile development and modern backend architecture.
  
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality products quickly in fast-moving environments.
  
• Ability to lead through influence, unblock teams, and create alignment.
  
• Experience establishing engineering processes that support speed without bureaucracy.
  
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate directly with product and design.
  
• Strong team-building, mentoring, and hiring abilities.
  
• Personal passion for health, performance, longevity, or human optimization.
  

Good to have:

• Experience building health, fitness, wellbeing, or medical apps.
  
• Experience scaling consumer mobile products with large user bases.
  
• Background in AI/ML-driven features or recommendation systems.
  
• Past work at early-stage startups or zero-to-one product environments.
